Because Marcom Minds Matter. Period.

Hi friends.

It has been a while, hasn’t it?

I have been busy plotting behind the scenes.

Plus moving house. Plus having a skin graft. Plus changing jobs. Plus becoming an unexpected pup mum (classic lockdown vibe).

Now, like the grasshopper who sang all summer I am popping my head up again before I hibernate for winter. Like the tortoise off of Blue Petter. For those of you born after 2000, Google ‘George the Tortoise’. Big cabbage fan.

I digress.

I really opened this new blog story to update you on something VERY EXCITING.

A few months ago, a lovely mutual friend and ex colleague Mark Berry introduced me to an equally lovely mutual friend and his ex colleague Paul Pilbeam. Who recently founded his own creative agency called ‘Mongrel Creative’. Why? Because they do things differently.

And that’s the most important thing I have learned during lockdown. When you have high functioning anxiety… you will always, despite any level of awareness and capacity management, be a bit of a worrier. Whether in social settings, fictional or hyped scenarios, imaginary ailments, etc.

Yet. And this is a big ‘Yet’. When you find your people. You feel more at home with your mind than you’ve ever felt.

This year… I found my people.

As a collective agency and non agency marketer and communications tribe, me and Paul are spearheading a new initiative that we are currently calling ‘Marcom Minds Matter UK’. Website launch and company registration to follow.

It will operate as a Community Interest Company (CIC) to provide…

• Impartial content on managing mental health.
• A monthly podcast series hosted by Paul and Sara (Matt Haig or Bryony Gordon, if by some Christmas miracle you’re reading this, please come on…).
• Training in mental health awareness (virtual and in person).
• And ultimately, a creative membership model, with a ‘Kite Mark’ for mental health.
